Free to You, Paid by Them
The whole arrangement on one page, including the parts that are not flattering.
The gist
Contractors pay Pit and Pump when a call is routed to them, and the person calling pays nothing at all. The counterweight to that arrangement is on this site as a one-minute bucket test, which can settle the problem without anybody visiting.
The call itself
You give us the ZIP code and what the pump is doing. We check it against the areas our partner contractors cover and connect you with one who covers yours. If nobody does, we say so on the call.
We do not take your details to pass on later, and we do not sell them.
Who pays us
The contractors do, when we route them a call. You are never charged anything, and there is no charge to you whether or not you go ahead with any work.
That arrangement has an obvious incentive attached, so it is worth saying what we do about it: every page on this site tries to tell you the thing you can check yourself first. The bucket test is free. The check valve is a component, not a pump. A downspout beside the foundation costs nothing to move. We would rather you fixed it than called us.
Things this is not
We are not a contractor. We carry out no work, we sell no pumps and no equipment, we do not set prices and we do not supervise anybody. Contractors in our network are independent businesses, and they are required to hold whatever credential their state or municipality demands.
We do not vouch for any individual contractor, and no page here says we do. Discharge work is usually a permitted alteration — ask to see the permit.
Done the bucket test?If the pump ran and cleared the pit, you may not need us at all. If it did not, or if you want the discharge looked at, we will route you to somebody who covers your area — the ZIP code is all we need to find them. Free to you. The line is not restricted to sump work; any plumbing job can go through it.
